Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m)

After breakfast in Arusha, transfer to Arusha National Park for registration. Begin your trek from Momella Gate accompanied by an armed ranger as wildlife like giraffes and buffalo roam the lower slopes. The trail winds through montane forest before reaching Miriakamba Hut.
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Accommodation: Miriakamba Hut
Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,570m)

A steady climb through lush forests leads to the Saddle Hut, situated below Little Meru. In the afternoon, enjoy an acclimatization hike to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) for panoramic views.
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours + 1.5 hours (Little Meru)
Accommodation: Saddle Hut
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 3: Saddle Hut to Mount Meru Summit (4,566m) – Back to Miriakamba Hut

Start your summit push around midnight, climbing through Rhino Point and along the crater rim to reach Socialist Peak at sunrise. Enjoy breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro, the crater, and beyond. Descend back to Saddle Hut for breakfast and continue to Miriakamba Hut.
Hiking Time: 10–12 hours
Accommodation: Miriakamba Hut

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate – Transfer to Arusha

A gentle descent through forest trails leads back to Momella Gate, where you receive summit certificates. Transfer back to Arusha for rest or onward travel.

Accommodation: Not included (can be arranged on request)
