Kilimanjaro Climb – Marangu Route (5–6 Days)

The Classic Hut Route to Africa’s Highest Peak

Overview

Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” the Marangu Route is Kilimanjaro’s most established path, offering hut accommodations rather than tents. Ideal for first-time trekkers, it follows a direct ascent and descent on the same trail through rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). While it’s the shortest route, a 6-day version is recommended to aid acclimatization.

Why Choose This Route?

  • Comfortable hut stays — no need for tents or ground mats
  • Direct and scenic path through varied ecological zones
  • Ideal for beginners with optional acclimatization day
